Thankful Blog Hop!

Hi Bo Bunny Fans!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday!

Filled with yummy good eats, friends or family or all the above!

We started our day off with a yummy breakfast (French Toast with extra powdered sugar) at Cracker Barrel with my family!

Then off to a movie with the kids back home for Scott's oh so yummy Thanksgiving Dinner and then card games with the kids. They love to play Phase 10 or Monopoly!

This year I'm thankful for a hubby who loves to cook, family in good health, my youngest son doing well in school, the real estate market picking up a bit, my job with Bo Bunny, a teenage son who likes being at home, my sweet Boston Terrier Peso who life would be very dull without, my very helpful daughter, getting to go to Florida with my Mom and a roof over our heads.

I made a pledge to myself to try to help others out through giving. I read an amazing story about a Veteran and the help he recieved through the Salvation Army. And even though I'm not Rockefeller or well off in the least... this year we have a paycheck for my hubby and that's much better than last. I'm putting any change or small amount I can into every red Salvation Army bell ringers container I come across. So far I've walked by two and twice I've contributed. May not be a huge deal..but it all adds up. $1 here....50 cents there. We're also helping a family by giving gifts, toys, toiletries for a 5th grade boy. My couponing savvy really comes into play!

So what are you thankful for this year? Any special things you're doing?

Leave a comment today and on Monday I'll pick a random name to receive some of our Bo Bunny Delilah collection and some other yummy Bo Bunny goodies I've assembled!

And would you like a chance to win some Glue Arts adhesive? After you complete the Bo Bunny hop...go check out Glue Arts Facebook page and follow the info below!

You're next stop on the Bo Bunny Thankful hop is to Robyn

Remember...Pay it forward....thanks!

  15. So true, so true. I always try to throw change in those salvation army tins too!

I recently got an e-mail that really made me take a second look at how I view things. Instead of being frusterated or sad about something, find a reason to be glad for it. So instead of being frusterated that I had to wait a couple days to go to the grocery store (when hubby got paid) when it was convenient to go right now, I am thankful for knowing I had a paycheck come in and knowing I could go. Instead of being frusterated that hubby was gone for 10 days, I was glad hubby had a good job where he was able to take some much deserved 'guy time'. That sorta thing.

  18. This year, I've been blessed w/ too many things to list! At the top, though, are my family, our health, and the many opportunities my children have.
Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving thoughts too. With Christmas so close to T-giving, I often feel the holiday is overshadowed by so much "gimmes". Trying to teach my own kids to be thankful for what we have is one of the reasons this Nov. holiday has become so important to me!

  45. I, too, am very thankful that my husband is employed. My "thing" is feeding the hungry right where I live. Any time I am involved in a gathering, big or small, I ask everyone to bring a canned good. I then take the collection to my local food bank.
    I enjoy your blog!

My children along with their sunday school classes have also adopted a seven year old girl that has cancer. With the coupons I get all kinds of free things for the food pantry here in the area.

  55. I am all about the Salvation Army Kettles. I have my 2 year old and 4 year old put change in every one we pass and remind them that the money is going to make Christmas special for families who can't afford the special things we can. We stopped at one kettle today where the bell ringer let me kids ring his bell after they put their change in. What a thoughtful gesture on the part of the bellringer.

  73. I usually help by donating to Salvation Army or Angel Tree. But this year, I have become unemployed. Although I am better off than alot of others, I cannot help like I normally do. Not to mention, I have 3 grandchildren who's father hasnt been working that much lately either. So any extra I have will be providing Snow boots and winter clothes for my grandchildren. I pray that next Christmas will be alot better and that I can help others more.

  75. Glad you had a yummy Thanksgiving. I don't have much to give, but do believe that in order to prosper and have good things happen to you, that you must give to others whether it be change, dollars, volunteering, an act of kindness or a smile.

  76. Hi Julia~ I agree, the way you're giving back is a tremendous help whether it's a little or a lot. This year as every year we always have a giving tree at work and we put children's names given from local schools that are in need of some extra special attention during the holiday season. These kids get over the top gifts, something they wouldn't normally receive and the joy is seeing these kids open their gifts, it's amazing! Love the blog!

  91. I'm so thankful for all the blessings we've received from the Lord. We try to help out those less fortunate than us all year, but there's something about THIS time of year that brings it to the fore...maybe it's supposed to be a season of bounty, but so many are destitute. It's good to hear of others who are trying to help, too. =D
